decision 2 or 3

well, depending on whether or not i want to count Little Rock as a decision, the hubs found out via the status checker that St. Thomas (Minneapolis) mailed a decision on 12/8. exciting! it's totally not in his top 10 but, at least for me, it is so good to hear from somewhere. i mean.....he applied to 18 schools! it's nice to knock some out once in awhile.

decision two? and a visit

well, we're in nyc and loving it. since we're here we decided to visit his no. 10 of 18, CUNY school of law, in beautiful flushing, queens. sorry that was snark-tastic. the people were very sweet.

little rock law school asked him for an addendum in order for scholarship consideration so that is probably an upcoming acceptance. yay?

now we really begin

Breaking MHIGTLS news: he got his first acceptance yesterday for Michigan State University. Out of his 18 schools applied to this ranks 17 for him and 18th for me. I think we were both just happy to hear something. But seriously, who moves to Michigan in this economy??

still no words or give us some more words

we continue the wait. no word from any schools in the last few days. well, he did hear from little rock that although his personal statement was "excellent", they need to know "why us, why here?" I seconded the question. I suppose I'll have to do more work on my penultimate list.

big sighs.

off with their heads!

I know I'm late but I'm liking the newest Yeah Yeah Yeah's album.

In MHIGTLS news, no news. that was a total tease, yes, I know. actually, I took it upon myself to create what I'm calling my "penultimate moving guide". I'm taking each city we may possibly move to and am looking closely at the three most important factors: job options, housing options and movie theaters. seriously. it took THREE HOURS just to do three cities. I love being organized and researching but that was crazy.

Semi-relatedly, I was doing research for my sleep issues. you want to scare someone? make them read sleep apnea literature- it's horrifying. So, I went ahead and made an appointment and I guess we'll see.

heads will roll.

'not you fat jesus!'

the hangover. man, oh man, this movie was fucked up! pardon the french, but seriously, if that offended you- don't go see this movie. it's in the now (too?) popular man-child genre. two groomsmen, a groom and the bride's brother head to vegas for a night of bachelor fun. the characters are typical and their chemistry adds to the drama. the only difference is this movie's premise takes issue with the whole 'i can't remember last night so it must have been fun' philosophy of a good party. in fact, three guys wake up to find the fourth gone and in trying to remember what happened, they retrace their steps which leads to a number of hilarious, near impossible discoveries of their shenanigans.

it was so unbelieveably wrong and funny, i would see it again. we (the hubs) and i shirked more than a couple of times because it's also just raunchy. that bradley cooper is scarily good looking- he doesn't seem real. his polar opposite in the looks department, zach garifliniakisislielajfz (sorry, i can't spell that), was by far the funniest character in the movie. his one liners remain safely tucked away in my heart.

technically, there were a lot of writing and editing problems for me but the pure absurdity of the story was very entertaining. i also found myself puzzled by the soundtrack. a lot of the music truly did not fit the flow of the story or scenery. in any event, i say i recommend it for those who can handle a movie about four hetero white men in vegas. need i say more? b-
